In a statement issued Tuesday night Ki-moon said we are dismayed at the decision taken by the Israeli government to expand Gilo settlement built on Palestinian territories occupied by Israel during 1967 war.
They also reiterated support for the so-called Arab peace initiative that calls for Israeli withdrawal from all territories occupied in the 1967 war, in exchange of full recognition of the Jewish state.
Turkey last year brokered four rounds of indirect talks between longtime foes Israel and Syria, focusing on the contentious issue of the return of the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau seized by Israeli forces during the 1967 war.
