Byline: ANI Hua Hin (Thailand), Oct 23 (ANI): ASEAN Summit Spokesperson Vimon Kidchob on Friday said that participation by countries like India is very significant for all ten ASEAN member countries, as India has very strong-hold in various fields like education, herbal medicines, IT, science and technology.
Thai Commerce Minister Porntiva Nakasai told a press conference after the meeting of the ASEAN ministers and their counterparts from China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and India that the group acknowledged the latest studies on a 16-country Comprehensive Economic Partnership and on a 13-country East Asia Free Trade Area, but decided more examination of the two plans are needed.
As a research institute based in Singapore, the EA1 monitors developments in relations and interactions between China and the individual countries of Southeast Asia as well as the ASEAN grouping as a whole.
