Elan Corporation, plc (Dublin, Ireland; 0902-4666) announced that on May 12, 2000 the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ("CAFC") issued a decision affirming an earlier court judgment that Elan's Nifedipine Extended-Release tablets (30 mg), a generic equivalent to Bayer's hypertension drug Adalat CC, does not infringe Bayer AG's United States Patent 5,264,446.
During the year, we successfully launched our generic versions of Cardizem CD and Verelan and we received tentative approval for our generic version of Adalat CC.
