I imagine I'm not alone in wondering why these rain-sodden islands should be running short of Adam's Ale.
I was willing to accept the moral and environmental arguments against drinking bottled water in a country where we're never short of a wee tot of Adam's Ale.
It might be called Waterhouse Street, but there is not a drop to drink of Adam's ale, or indeed corporation pop for Miss Bond and Mrs Beckett, as their beleaguered house was left high and dry during Everton slumclearance, 40 years ago in January, 1967.
