It is a more docile animal than the African wild dogs, and is very rare.
The Iberian lynx, found only in Spain and possibly Portugal, is among the nine species which are critically endangered - along with African wild dogs, the Mediterranean monk seal and the European mink.
It was also feeding time for many of the large carnivores like the lions and the African wild dogs, so we got the chance to watch the animals literally tearing into their dinners.
