a.1.In devices generating heat, such as gasoline-engine motor vehicles, the cooling of the device by increasing its radiating surface by means of ribs or radiators, and placing it so that it is exposed to a current of air. Cf. Water cooling.

69) Heat retention is caused by a number of factors, including: extensive use of heat-retaining, slow-cooling surfaces, like concrete; the presence of dark surfaces (including roads) that absorb heat; decreased wind speeds, because of tall buildings; and the elimination of natural surfaces that absorb water, leading to less aircooling evaporation.
As standard, the front seats are now heated with the option aircooling which works by recirculating chilled air through the seat construction.
