In the Pazyryk graves other long-distance imports were also found, for example Achaemenid-type akinakes daggers (Sulimirski 1970: 79).
Zograf (1977: 182) identified it as a dagger, Shelov (1978: 153) and Sokolskij (1954: 129) as a sword; the latter considered that these symbols prove there were akinakes in the Bosporan army, among the mercenaries and allies of Bosporan rulers.
