There, artist Gerald Holtom, working for the Direct Action Committee
Against Nuclear War, designed the symbol as an emblem for a 1958 protest
march on the British nuclear weapons facility at Aldermaston.
"As the Aldermaston march approached London in 1964, I saw a
political figure standing by the side of the road holding a placard on
which there was simply a question mark. (NYSE:JEC)
announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract from the
Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) to act as managing agent for their
sites at Aldermaston and Burghfield, Berkshire, UK. |
