IF YOU live in Amravati you would be forgiven to think that Pratibha Patil is the President of this assembly constituency instead of the whole country.
A sitting legislator of Congress party from Amravati constituency and a Minister, Sunil Deshmukh, is contesting against official candidate Rajendra Shekhawat, son of President Pratibha Patil.
The Congress party dropped Deshmukh and gave Shekhawat the ticket from the Amravati assembly constituency, which had earlier elected Deshmukh twice.
