The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have remained virtually
the same for centuries, while the beautiful, pristine beaches of
Indonesia and Thailand now pulse to the modern vibrations of
international tourism. Andaman and Nicobar Islands in
the Bay of Bengal and Lakshadweep in the Arabian Sea are parts of India. To curtail or
even ban migration to minority areas of a country is not uncommon: India
bars the movement of "mainland Indians" to Nagaland, Kashmir
and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Vietnam prohibits
"spontaneous migration" to the ethnic minority Central
Highlands. |
