In May of 1858, just nine months before the first chapters of Blake appeared in the Anglo-African in January 1859, he met several times with John Brown in Canada at Brown's request, once as chair of a secret convention in support of Brown's plans to organize and lead slaves in rebellion (Levine, Identity 178).
25pm Richard Attenborough leads the cast in this drama about the headquarters of an Anglo-African regiment threatened by a band of rebels demanding the release of one of their comrades.
They come from his early essays, speeches, and journal; two periods of his work as a New York correspondent; his Heads of the Colored People column in Frederick Douglass' newspaper; articles in Anglo-African Magazine; and letters to Gerrit Smith.
