Thank you for providing the opportunity to point out that former State Department Arabists, such as yourself, were distinguished not by their partisanship, but by their knowledge of the Arab culture and Arabic language.
The United States approach in controlling the media by means of harsh attacks on Arabic language channels or by attempts to launch an alternative Arabic channel (Al-Hurra) have largely failed.
