En la Iglesia anglicana (Church of England) existen dos arzobispos: Archbishop of York y Archbishop of Canterbury, siendo éste el jefe espiritual de la Iglesia. Ambos arzobispos, que ocupan un escaño en la Cámara de los Lores, son nombrados por el monarca con el asesoramiento del Primer Ministro y los representantes de la Iglesia anglicana. El Arzobispo de Canterbury es quien corona al nuevo monarca británico en la ceremonia de la coronación (Coronation Ceremony) y oficia en las bodas reales. Los dos arzobispos ejercen autoridad administrativa sobre el clero en sus respectivos arzobispados (provinces).
