Although the zoo no longer has Polar bears, elephants, hippos or killer whales, there are more than 1,000 animals from 200 species, including lions, tigers, snow leopards, Asiatic bears and giraffes.
Among those animals still waiting to be rehoused are four elderly Asiatic bears.
Even yesterday, the controversy that has plagued the zoo lingered as concern grew for the fate of four elderly Asiatic bears that will have to be put down if they can't be rehoused.
