The Gothic Revival brass bed, which was made by John Hardman and Company in the city in or around 1865, is expected to fetch about pounds 17,000 when it is auctioned in Los Angeles next month Its ornate design is thought to be by Edward Welby Pugin, whose father, Augustus Welby Pugin, designed the decorations and sculpture at the Houses of Parliament in London.
