Au·rang·a·bad  (ou-rngg-bäd, --bäd)
A town of western India east-northeast of Mumbai (Bombay). Founded in 1610, it is near the site of a mausoleum erected by Aurangzeb in honor of his empress. Population: 873,000.

Byline: ANI Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Nov 20(ANI): Recent heavy unseasonal rains in Maharashtra's Aurangabad district have destroyed crops, including cotton, maize and sugarcane.
In Bihar, Maoists blasted a mobile tower of a private telecom tower with dynamite at Salaiya village and dug up roads at Chanda village of Aurangabad district.
Some parts of the neighboring Aurangabad districts like Phulambri assembly segment and Paithan town are now added to this parliamentary seat.
