Kwame Nkrumah, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Jomo Kenyatta, Obafemi Awolowo, Oginga Odinga, Jaja Nwachukwu, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, to name but a few, were nationalists and patriots who used their traditional names with pride.
The four airports that have been earmarked are Murtala Muhammed International Airport which serves the country's commercial capital Lagos; Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at the Federal State capital and the seat of government in Abuja; Kano's Mallam Aminu International Airport in the north of the country; and the Port Harcourt International Airport which is the principal international gateway for the oil and gas industry in the Delta.
