A city of southwest Georgia on the Black Sea near the Turkish border. On the site of an ancient Greek colony, it is an important petroleum refining and shipping center. Population: 121,000.

Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian films 'One Day after the 10th Day' and 'Twenty' were prized in Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia on September 21-28.
Vincent cargo ship which was 3,038 gross tons in weight and 82 meters in length was carrying iron from Batumi port of Georgia to Turkish city of Istanbul.
US warships made repeated calls to Batumi in the aftermath of the August war with Russia, but this is the first time since then that the United States and the small pro-Western state have held joint exercises.
