1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1 onion, chopped 2 teaspoons salt 4 cups water 2 bay leaves 1/2 pound chicken parts with bones 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Heat oil in large soup pot.
In large pot, combine sprit peas, barley, water, bay leaves, salt, Braggs Liquid Aminos, thyme, garlic, sage, and cumin; bring to boil over high heat.
Add vanilla and bay leaves to sugar mixture and bring to simmer over medium heat.
