Kaplan Companies will work with Chevron Texaco--the former property owner--to remediate portions of the 76-acre parcel that wraps under the base of the Bayonne Bridge at Avenue A and First Street.
One day I took a bike ride to Bayonne, New Jersey, and under the Bayonne Bridge there was this long piece of marine rope, the heavy kind used on ships, tied to the trestle, and these young teenagers were swinging from it.
Created by renowned designer David Rockwell of The Rockwell Group in his first venture into mall design, the interior is highlighted by a striking 50-foot garden wall and a series of large arbors throughout the mall, complemented by skylights on the second floor and a 30' x 10' square-foot window overlooking the Arthur Kill River and Bayonne Bridge on the upper level.
