The couple's daughter, Sally Smedley, said she believed her mother died from the shock of seeing her father dead on the lawn of their bungalow on Bettws-Y-Coed Road.
The pair were found dead at around 11am in the grounds of their home on Bettws-Y-Coed Road in the Cyncoed area of Cardiff.
Headteacher Linda Wright confirmed that the future of the Peter Brook Centre at Bettws-y-coed, North Wales, is under review.
