Roosevelt Island
1. Formerly Welfare Island. An island in the East River off the coast of central Manhattan Island. It was long the site of a penal institution and municipal hospital, which earned it the name Welfare Island after 1921. Renamed for Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1973, it is now largely residential.
2. An island of Antarctica in the eastern part of the Ross Ice Shelf. Robert E. Byrd discovered the island in 1934.

NEW YORK -- The first-ever Goldeneye Film Festival, announced today by Palm Pictures' Chris Blackwell and David Koh, is scheduled to take place December 8-13, 2004, at Blackwell's Island Outpost property, Goldeneye, located in Oracabessa Bay, Jamaica.
For her first story, she pretended to be insane and got herself committed to Blackwell's Island, a New York mental institution.
