A blood chit displays messages aimed at civilians that ask them to help servicemembers shot down in combat get back to friendly forces.
It also includes aircraft type and tail number, date of loss, circumstances, status of crew, crash location, and the blood chit number, if available, and will be a significant tool for analysts, historians, researchers, and academics in the future.
