Along with boot sector virus removal, your computer might need a few other protection precautions, such as spyware and adware protection.
The typical boot sector virus that used to reside on a floppy is extinct--because there are no more floppy drives.
In addition, you should disable floppy disk booting--most computers now allow you to do this, and that will eliminate the risk of a boot sector virus coming in from a floppy disk accidentally left in the drive.
