A small distal portion of the gonad (5 mm x 5 mm) was fixed in Bouin's fluid for 48-72 h and stored in 70% ethanol until sectioning (Naidu 1970).
The gonads were fixed in Bouin's fluid and prepared using traditional histologic procedures to obtain thin sections (6 [micro]m) stained with Ehrlich's Haematoxylin and eosin.
