Deepor Beel is one of the largest and most important beels in the Brahmaputra valley of lower Assam and is a representative wetland type found within the bio geographic province, 'Burma Monsoon Forest'.
This fluvial network provided a distinguishing environment throughout the history of Bengal, but it also linked the region to the larger Ganga and Brahmaputra valley networks, on the one hand, and to the east coast and Bay of Bengal systems, on the other.
For the most part, it comes from the Brahmaputra Valley, which is known for both its hills and its rain.
