In the introductory story, Harriet hands in a sorry-looking solar-system science project, composed of squished-up balls of newspaper attached to green bristol board with tape and grape chewing gum.
Recognition of specific images is indeed frustrated but instead of imagining storms or faces, I'm squealing again at detail, the subtle fuzz of Xerox on Bristol board compared to the clarity of graphite on Mylar, and how they overlap to make a form and its shadow one.
What You Need: One sheet of 22-by-28-inch or larger white poster board or bristol board per student; heavy-duty adhesive tape, two cans of spray paint (one light, one dark color), assorted tempera paints, eyedroppers, old newspapers, colored markers, stencil letters
