Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in Korea where he received a Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star with V Device, three additional Bronze Stars, Purple Heart and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
Born in Portland, Anderson was educated at the University of Oregon and received the Silver and Bronze stars and two Purple Hearts during his service in the U.
The two bronze stars are located on the sidewalk at the Pepsi Forum, directly in front of the main entrance on Sainte-Catherine Street, where thousands upon thousands of Montrealers and Quebecers have trod the ground for more than 70 years.
