Byline: JULIAN HUGHES NEWS emerged last week that brown-headed cowbird, a North American species, could be added to the list of birds seen in Wales.
The North American brown-headed cowbird, which is not a cuckoo but a member of the blackbird family, and the common cuckoo mentioned earlier are probably the world's most successful and well-known brood parasites.
The one most popular in the Americas seems to be the Brown-headed Cowbird which is a pretty big bird in comparison to the sparrow.
