1. A city of southern Ontario, Canada, a suburb of Hamilton on Lake Ontario. Population: 164,000.
2. A city of north-central North Carolina east of Greensboro. It is a textile center in an industrialized area. Population: 48,400.
3. A city of northwest Vermont on Lake Champlain west-northwest of Montpelier. The largest city in the state, it was the site of a military and naval base during the War of 1812. Population: 38,400.
