Byrnes  (bûrnz), James Francis 1879-1972.
American politician who served as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1941-1942). As secretary of state (1945-1947) he tried unsuccessfully to ease postwar tensions between the United States and the USSR.

I think the competition is very strong - Jim Byrnes, Joel Plaskett, Ndidi Onukwulu, and Romi Mayes.
As president and CEO of the Vermont Community Foundation from 2003 to 2008, Byrnes grew assets from $70 million to close to $170 million in five years, tripling grantmaking.
Byrnes was not entitled to any legal remedy under the claims made in the civil suit she filed in June against members of the School Committee, former interim School Superintendent Deirdre Loughlin and the city.
