Cabriolet

Originally, a two-wheeled, hooded, one-horse carriage, but also a four-wheeled, two-seated carriage with a very roomy back seat and a front seat intended to be used by a chauffeur. Later, shortened to “cab,” the name was used for carriages for hire.
