(Placename) the US president's retreat in the Appalachian Mountains, Maryland: scene of the Camp David Agreement (Sept., 1978) between Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Menachem Begin of Israel, mediated by Jimmy Carter, which outlined a framework for establishing peace in the Middle East.
