In Roger Tory Peterson's Field Guide to Wildflowers of Northeastern and North-central North America, I find that the pretty violet-blue harebell I have seen in meadows and on rocky alpine slopes is called Campanula rotundifolia.
The harebell flowers from mid July to September in open dry areas and is a member of the Campanulaceae family with the botanical name Campanula rotundifolia.
One of them, our native harebell, Campanula rotundifolia , is a good example.
