Ce`rar´gy`rite    (sė`rär´jŷ`rīt)
n.1.(Min.) Native silver chloride, a mineral of a white to pale yellow or gray color, darkening on exposure to the light. It may be cut by a knife, like lead or horn (hence called horn silver).

In an earlier news release, Fischer-Watt had noted that the silver values found to-date, in the near-surface oxidized portions of the Mercedes vein, were in a silver chloride mineral called cerargyrite, or horn silver.
All of the ore in this reserve was in the form of free gold and cerargyrite (horn silver).
