Based on the results, the researchers believe that a drug that is already in clinical trials for a blood disease common in adults may work for acute childhood leukemia.
Survivors of childhood leukemia were the largest group, accounting for about one-third of the cohort.
Some specific areas reported are parental smoking and childhood leukemia, breast cancer and the role of exercise in women, the contribution of alcohol and tobacco use in gastrointestinal cancer development, and the role of xenobiotic metabolic enzymes in cancer epidemiology.
