A city of south-central China on the Chang Jiang (Yangtze River). It was the capital of China from 1937 to 1946. Population: 3,930,000.

Tokyo, Japan, Feb 27, 2006 - (JCN Newswire) - At a joint press conference held today, Mazda Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company and Changan Automotive Group announced the commencement of Mazda3 production at the Changan Ford main plant in Chongqing.
Additional highlights anticipated in 2006 include the first InterContinental hotel to open in Boston (see ON TOUR below), and two new InterContinental hotels in Greater China - in Chongqing and Shenzhen - bringing the brand's total to seven in that fast developing region.
