A research article describing the study has been published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
While the role of economic and environmental factors in childhood asthma have been studied extensively, there has been very little investigation of how social factors might influence the prevalence of the disease, Gupta and her associates note in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
The research, which received funding from the British Skin Foundation, Action Medical Research, the Newcastle Healthcare Charity and the Wellcome Trust, is published in the latest issue of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
