A region of western Ireland on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The area is noted for its peat bogs and mountainous terrain.

Colette's recent album My Conamara Marble Ring has proven very popular with radio listeners and dancers.
As the well-known poet Tomas Mac Eoin, brother of Maire Ui Fhlatharta, says in his poem 'Conamara' [Connemara]: Na labhair liom ar ailleachtai tiortha i bhfad o bhaile, Is cuma liom ma mholann tusa iad; Na radharcanna is aille, i gConamara ata siad, Fagfaidh Conamara thu faoi dhraiocht.
The Donegal truck driving man, who now lives in Conamara, is busy working on his debut album at the Eagle's Nest Studio in Renvyle, Co Galway.
