Aside from that, screwtops are resealable and there is no need to worry about cork taints, breaking of cork or the TCA.
However, it is estimated that anywhere between two to five percent of all natural cork-finished wines are ruined by trichloroanisole, also known as cork taint, oxidation or TCA for short.
I'm not sure how the chemistry works, but the clingfilm scavenges the TCA (as cork taint is known).
