Any of various gram-positive, rod-shaped bacteria of the genus Corynebacterium, which includes many animal and plant pathogens, such as the causative agent of diphtheria.

htm) and 22 non-Francisella isolates (Acinetobacter, Bacillus, Brucella, Corynebacterium, Enterobacter, Enterococcus, Escherichia, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Legionella, Proteus, Pseudomonas, Serratia, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Yersinia species).
The most common bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus, Morganella morganii, Corynebacterium spp, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Proteus spp.
Their study indicated that tylosin-resistant bacteria, primarily Corynebacterium, accounted for 80% of total culturable bacteria detected.
