The Croy coastal road has some breathtaking views, taking you past Culzean Castle, through picturesque Maidens and on to historic Turnberry, where you can watch the sun set over Ailsa Craig.
Included is Alexander 'Sawney' Bean, whose clan of cannibals ate more than 1000 people, the Ghostly Piper of Culzean Castle, whose spooky skirl can be heard on stormy nights, and Morag, The Monster of Loch Morar.
Some years ago, I went on a coach holiday to Largs in Ayrshire, and one of the days out was a trip to Culzean Castle.
