Cutter bar

(Mach.) A bar which carries a cutter or cutting tool, as in a boring machine.
The bar to which the triangular knives of a harvester are attached.

clean the backside of the cutter bars on the cylinder and, with a little more difficulty, the inside face of the blade (which is fixed to the sole-plate).
To make sure the cut is even across the cutter bar, insert a sheet of paper and turn the blades.
Machines using air flow instead of a reel suffer more from leaf blockages at the cutter bar but have the advantage of being able to carry more cut leaf on the machine before they need
