The ultrasonic-treated MWNTs are obtained via dispersing 1 g of MWNTs in 100 g of cyclohexanone in an ultrasonic bath using 80 W and 59 kHz.
The researchers thought that the cyclohexanone in the fluid samples might have leached from the plastic.
The products involved ranged from the usual array of faulty electrical goods to children's underwear containing carcinogenic dyes and farting figurines containing cyclohexanone, a chemical on the commission's list of dangerous substances.
