Two DHHS agencies, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NIEHS, have developed websites offering information on dealing with post-hurricane conditions.
The new report in the March 17, 2005 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine appears little more than a year after the DHHS unveiled a new national education campaign and research strategy to combat obesity and excessive weight.
A large body of research indicates a clear and strong association between poor health and low socioeconomic status (SES) (Courtenay, 2002, DHHS, 1998a).
