A joint effort of the Office of the Director, Defense Research & Engineering (DDR & E) and the Defense Technical Information Center, the Portal provides single-sign-on access to current and historical DoD R & E information, including DTIC technical data resources.
For example, a pharmaceutical company may wish to use MeSH (Medical Subject Headings), while a defense company might want to use the DTIC (Defense Technical Information Center) thesaurus.
The drug most often used to treat it, DTIC, helps only a quarter of patients, and its effect soon fades.
