1881: Cecil B De Mille, producer and director of epic films like The Ten Commandments, was born in Ashfield, Mass.
He worked with choreographers including Michel Fokine, Leonide Massine, Bronislava Nijinska, Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Agnes de Mille and Valerie Bettis.
Freddie's ballerina partners included Alexandra Danilova, Alicia Markova, Agnes de Mille and Moira Shearer.
