The programmable demultiplexor architecture used in Conexant's cable STB chipsets allowed the Passage algorithms to be implemented through microcode firmware without any hardware changes.
The single-chip solution can be interfaced directly to all commonly available MPEG transport demultiplexor chips (including Oak's OTI-8211 and OTI-8215 MPEG-2 decoders) as well as directly to a DVB common interface.
Source products originate the stream from the DVD movie disc or from the digital receiver and demultiplexor in broadcast scenarios.
