Huawei's Optix OSN 6800/OSN 3800 wavelength division multiplexer, approved by IBM for GDPS/STP applications, is able to provide dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) for independent data channels using any protocol.
The two companies have signed a three year deal which will see Marconi's Multihaul 3000 Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transmission platform, used as the first building block for what they claim will be Europe's first 40Gb/s optical network.
For the next seven years, the company is to supply a new technology, called DWDM - Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing - used in the development of high-speed telecom networks.
