The tusk-like Dentalism shells, easily strung, are known from Mesolithic mortuary contexts elsewhere in the Mediterranean, worn as a head-cap, for example, by a few of the Natufian deceased in the Mt Carmel caves of the Levant (Garrod & Bate 1937: 14-19).
